Indian scientists have discovered a rare and wonder herb in the high Himalayan region, which is considered to be highly important due to its medicinal properties. Indian scientists have discovered a wonderful herb named Rhodiola in the Himalayas. This herb is known by the local people as ‘Solo’. Rhodiola may emerge as a modern-day “Sanjeevani,” offering a natural remedy with the potential to address numerous health challenges.

Rhodiola, an herb found in cold and high mountain climates, has India’s leading scientists wondering if this is the end of the search for “Sanjeevani”, the mythical herb that gave new life to Rama’s brother Lakshman in the epic Ramayana. This herb can be beneficial for soldiers deployed in difficult conditions like Siachen Glacier located at an altitude of 5,400 meters.

People in Ladakh do not know the properties of Rhodiola, locally known as Solo. The leafy parts of this plant were used as vegetables by the locals. The Rhodiola plant has immunomodulatory, adaptogenic, and radioprotective properties. A variety of phytoactive compounds and secondary metabolites can be found in it. Biochemical warfare bombs may be less affected by Rhodiola’s effects on gamma radiation.

The plant has also been found to have anti-depressant and appetite-stimulating properties. Studies worldwide have reported other properties of the plant, including faster recovery after heavy exercise, memory enhancement, and reduced cardiovascular stress. Doctors in Mongolia prescribe it for tuberculosis and cancer.

A team of Indian scientists conducted research for several months in the harsh conditions of the Himalayas. During this time, they identified the herb and tested its chemical composition and medicinal properties. The initial results have been encouraging, and now more in-depth research is planned on it.

As research progresses, the herb may offer new solutions for combating depression, improving physical endurance, and even treating diseases like tuberculosis and cancer. Given its wide range of benefits, Rhodiola could become a key natural remedy, attracting global interest and opening new doors for therapeutic applications.
