A 21-year-old IIT Guwahati student was discovered deceased in his hostel room. Students and parents are expressing sorrow at the occurrence, which has stunned the whole institution. The police have started investigating the incident, while students of the institute are protesting in large numbers over the issue.
The student’s corpse was discovered in his room at the Brahmaputra campus hostel, according to the authorities. The third-year computer science student was from Uttar Pradesh. The dead body has been sent for a post-mortem, and the inquiry is now under progress. At IIT Guwahati, this is the fourth incidence involving a student dying this year.
Information concerning the incident has been received by IIT-G authorities, who are also working to find out specific details. “After conducting our initial inquiry, we won’t make a statement,” the institution declared. Awaiting the post-mortem report and the police investigation is under process.
Other students were observed protesting in response to what happened. There were several social media shares of the student protest footage. According to the students, an administration negligence resulted in the death of a student, age 21. A silent protest calling for accountability was staged by students in reaction to this. On the other hand, a video featuring the institute’s faculty laughing went viral.
The professors of the institute were seen laughing while talking to each other after seeing the protesting students who were pleading for justice.
