In a shocking incident from Chhapra, Bihar, a 15-year-old boy died after a doctor allegedly performed a stone operation by following a YouTube video. This highlights the potential dangers of misusing technology, despite its vast educational benefits.
In this case, the family members of the deceased said that the minor had a complaint of pain in the stomach. He was admitted nursing home for treatment, where the doctor operated by watching YouTube on his mobile. After the operation, when the condition started deteriorating, the child was sent to Patna for treatment, but the minor died before reaching Patna. The family said that the doctor was repeatedly watching YouTube on the mobile during the operation.
Many serious mistakes were made during the operation, due to which the condition of the young boy kept deteriorating and he died. Along with sending the child to Patna for treatment, the fake doctors and workers of the illegally operated nursing home are absconding. There is a demand for strict action in this matter. Videos are available on platforms like YouTube only for educational purposes, but they cannot be a substitute for any kind of professional medical training. Performing such operations without a medical degree is also a legal offense.
This incident points to negligence in the medical field not only in Chapra but all over the country. Many such cases come to light, where doctors without licenses play with patients’ lives. The government and the health department need to take strict steps to prevent such incidents.
The family members, enraged by the incident, reached the spot with the dead body and started creating a ruckus. The police of Gadkha police station, who reached the spot on information, took the body into custody made a Panchnama, and sent the body to Chapra Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. After the post-mortem of the body, the family members cremated it on the river bank in the village with a heavy heart.
