In the early days of the Vande Bharat Express, one common point of criticism was the food quality served onboard. Passengers often expressed dissatisfaction with the meals, citing issues such as bland taste.
As the Vande Bharat Express grew in popularity, seemingly, IRCTC took these concerns seriously, recognizing the importance of quality food in enhancing the overall travel experience. Over time, the IRCTC implemented several measures to improve the quality of ingredients. They made sure that passengers are treated to fresh and tasty meals according to a review posted by a travel influencer.
Recently, a positive review of Vande Bharat’s food went viral on social media. The post highlighs the significant improvement. A user by the name of Shashank Gupta, who traveled on the Udaipur to Agra Vande Bharat Express, shared his delightful experience.
Posting a photo of his meal, which included a variety of dishes such as Cutlet, Poha, Paratha, Curry, Curd, Dalmot and a dessert, he praised the food, comparing its taste to that of a five-star hotel.
In his post, Shashank wrote, “Today I traveled in train no -20981 Udaipur Agra Vande Bharat express from Udaipur to Agra and the food in this train was no less than any five star hotel in terms of taste. Thank you @RailMinIndia @IRCTCofficial @AshwiniVaishnaw.”

Yes, a cockroach was found in a meal served on the Vande Bharat Premium Train in India. This unfortunate event has put the spotlight on the quality of food being served in what is touted as one of the country’s most prestigious train services.
