“When I become PM, I will nuke India,” says British YouTuber

Recently, a new controversy emerged when a British YouTuber made several racist comments against India. The trend of making sensational statements on social media is growing, and in this instance, it was the statement of Miles Routledge, a British YouTuber that caught everyone’s attention. “When I become Prime Minister, I will launch a nuclear attack on India.” This statement attracts controversy.

The controversy started when Routledge shared a screenshot of a threatening message from an anonymous X user on Tuesday. Although there was no indication of the sender’s nationality, he accused the person of being Indian. Miles Routledge, known online as ‘Lord Miles’, is a British YouTuber famous for his controversial travel blogs. Miles Routledge shared the post and wrote, “Indian threatened to find me, it backfired.” The screenshot shared in the post said, “I will find you, I promise, your apology video will be sweet.”

In a separate post, he made the situation more serious by making light of the use of nuclear weapons on India. He wrote, “When I become the Prime Minister of England, I will open the nuclear silos… I am eager to destroy the entire nation at the slightest infraction.” “I might attack India just for this!”

Soon after seeing the post, a heated debate started on social media and everyone shared various reactions condemning it.

A user wrote, “This guy needs urgent medical attention! I know there are no good hospitals in the UK for mental care but as an Indian I can get him admitted to the finest mental health hospital in Bangalore- NIMHANS!”

Another user wrote, “Please consult a good doctor ASAP…”

Another user wrote, “Bro needs some attention from India.”

Routledge, who has more than 126,000 subscribers on YouTube, first came into the public eye during his trip to Afghanistan in 2021, where he found himself caught in the middle of a Taliban offensive before being airlifted out. In 2023, he was detained by the Taliban during his next trip to Afghanistan. His controversial trips and subsequent social media posts have earned him a reputation as a “dangerous tourist.”
