Dinesh Karthik has officially retired from the IPL, bringing an end to his illustrious career in the tournament. He last represented Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the previous season, where he played a vital role for the team as a finisher and wicketkeeper-batter.
Karthik’s IPL journey has been remarkable, spanning over 15 seasons with various franchises, including Delhi Daredevils, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Mumbai Indians, among others. Known for his adaptability and calmness under pressure, Karthik has delivered numerous match-winning performances throughout his IPL career.
In his final season with RCB, Karthik continued to showcase his ability to finish games, using his experience to guide the team through challenging situations. He finished his IPL career with 4842 runs including 22 half-centuries at a strike rate of 135.4.

Dinesh Karthik recently joined Rajasthan Royals’ sister franchise, Paarl Royals and will be featuring in the upcoming SA20 2025 competition. The franchise roped him in after Jos Buttler was ruled out of the tournament to keep himself available for England’s highly-anticipated India tour in January.
