Woman finds Chicken pieces in Veg Meal, here's what Zomato replied

In this fast-growing world, people have no time to cook food and hence they order food from Swiggy and Zomato. In each and every order, the delivery executive will be assigned to deliver the food.

Zomato has faced significant backlash due to recurring food quality issues, which have frustrated many customers. A major point of contention has been the delivery of incorrect orders, particularly the mishandling of vegetarian and non-vegetarian items.

Customers who ordered vegetarian meals were mistakenly served non-vegetarian dishes, a mistake that is particularly sensitive in a country where dietary preferences are closely tied to religious and cultural beliefs.

This mix-up not only upset those with strict dietary restrictions but also damaged the trust customers had in Zomato’s service. Additionally, complaints about the quality and freshness of food have further compounded the dissatisfaction, leading to a wave of negative comments on social media and review platforms.

Zomato Issues Statement After Woman Discovers Chicken in Vegetarian Order

A user by the name of Himanshi took to X (formerly Twitter) to share her disappointment with Zomato after ordering a vegetarian meal and receiving a dish with chicken instead. She had ordered Palak Paneer Soya Matar and Millet Pulao from Eatfit, but was shocked to find Chicken Palak in her delivery.

In her post, Himanshi highlighted how this mistake was especially upsetting during Saawan, a sacred month for many Hindus who avoid eating meat. She expressed her frustration, noting that she had clearly selected a vegetarian option, making the mix-up all the more concerning.

“Have ordered the Palak Paneer soya matar and millet Pulao thru Zomato from Eatfit. Instead of Palak Paneer they have served chicken Palak. Delivering Chicken in Saawan is not acceptable when I have selected only vegetarian food,” she tweeted.

Here’s what Zomato said:-

“We make amends for this mix-up and understand how distressing it must’ve been for you. We take your dietary preferences very seriously and would never intend to disrespect them. Please allow us some time to get this checked, we’ll get back to you with an update at the earliest,” Zomato added.

One user wrote, “Zomato is shameless. They will deliver wrong orders. Then after wasting users time offer 50-100rs refund. After escalation and more time waste they will give 75-100% refund. They won’t even take any actions. Really irresponsible company”
