Bollywood actor and social worker Sonu Sood, known for his unique contribution, was recently caught in the Kanwar Yatra controversy. One of his tweets created a stir on social media, sparking a debate among the people. After this controversy, Sonu Sood clarified himself by sharing a post on Twitter.
The matter started when Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Aditya Nath ordered that the name and identity of the operator/owner should be displayed on food and beverage shops on the Kanwar Yatra routes so that the sanctity of the faith of the pilgrims is maintained. Due to this, it became a matter of debate among the public and meanwhile, Sonu Sood tweeted on Twitter in which he wrote, “Every shop should have the same nameplate: “Humanity”.
After the order of Chief Minister Aditya Nath, a video went viral in which a boy started making rotis for his customers, which also has footage of spitting on the dough. Meanwhile, a user commented on Sonu Sood’s tweet and wrote, ‘The spit-laden roti should be parceled to Sonu Sood so that brotherhood remains intact!’ After this, Sonu Sood replied to this user’s tweet and wrote – ‘Our Shri Ram ji had eaten Shabri’s ort berries, so why can’t I eat? Violence can only be defeated by non-violence, my brother. Humanity must remain intact. Jai Shri Ram.’
Impact of Tweet
When Sonu Sood’s tweet went viral, people understood and reacted to his words in different ways. Some saw it as support, while others criticized it. Amidst this confusion, Sood tweeted on his social media He released another message on the handle, clarifying his statement.
He wrote, “Spitting in food has never been justified by me. This is their character which will never change. They should be punished severely for this. But let humanity remain humanity’s friend. The time we spend in explaining to each other, we should spend that much time on those in need! I am a big fan of the work of the UP government.” He added, “Every house in UP and Bihar is my family.” Remember, no matter which state, city, or religion you belong to, if you need anything, let me know. The number is the same.”
On the same issue, BJP MP Kangana Ranaut hit out at actor Sonu Sood. Reacting to Sonu’s stance, Kangana said, “Agree, there should be “humanity” instead of halal.
