Apple rolled out a bunch of new AI features across its apps and operating systems. They also announced a partnership with OpenAI to bring ChatGPT technology to Apple devices.
Apple assured everyone that they’ve built these AI features with privacy as a top priority. They will use a mix of on-device processing and cloud computing to make these features work.
In response, Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, said on Monday that he might ban Apple devices from his companies. This came after Apple announced it was teaming up with OpenAI.
On his social media platform, X, Musk voiced worries about how Apple and OpenAI would handle user data.
He called the software partnership between Apple and OpenAI “an unacceptable security violation” and said that Apple has “no clue what’s actually going on.”
Amidst all this, Musk also shared a popular Indian meme to take a jab at Apple. He posted it on his X (previously Twitter). The meme shows a man and a woman sharing coconut water, depicting how Apple might share data with OpenAI, which could lead to privacy issues.
The caption of the image reads, “How intelligence works.” Notably, the meme is from the 2017 Tamil movie ‘Thappattam’.
