The India vs Pakistan cricket rivalry is one of the most intense and highly anticipated matchups in the world of sports. This rivalry extends into the T20 World Cups, where both teams have clashed several times with memorable results.
However, Team India holds the upper hand in terms of head-to-head as they have won seven games whereas Pakistan won just one game. In the recently concluded game between India and Pakistan in New York, the fans witnessed one of the best low-scoring thrillers.
In a game where the pitch came under fire for its unpredictability, the batters had no answers whatsoever as they were unable to counter the bowlers. India were bowled out for 119 runs. The likes of Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf took three wickets each.
Pakistan might have handed an easy target but they found out the hard way before surrendering at the hands of India in the thrilling encounter as India beat Pakistan by six runs to extend their dominance in T20 World Cups.
After India’s innings, former England captain Michael Vaughan took to his Twitter handle and stated that Pakistan do have a chance of sealing the deal. However, it was India who came out on top in the battle.
Here’s how Ravi Ashwin teased Michael Vaughan:-
Rohit Sharma, the winning captain, said, “We didn’t bat well enough. Halfway through our innings we were in a good position. We didn’t put enough partnership there and fell short with the bat. We spoke about every run matters on a pitch like that.”
Furthermore, he said, “There was enough in the pitch. Was a good wicket to be honest, compared to the last game. With a bowling lineup like that you feel confident to do the job. Halfway through the stage when they were batting, we got everyone together and said that if it can happen to us, it can happen to them. Little contribution from everyone can make huge difference.”
