Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni reserved the highest respect before congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the BJP-led NDA defied the odds and came through with flying colours in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections on Tuesday.
In a recent post on X (previously known as Twitter), which was written in Italian, she stated that India and Italy would continue to work together to “strengthen the friendship that unites” both nations.
“Congratulations to @narendramodi on the new electoral victory and my warmest wishes for good work. Certain that we will continue to work together to strengthen the friendship that unites Italy and India and consolidate cooperation on the various issues that bind us, for the well-being of our nations and our people,” she said in the post.
Giorgia Meloni’s post caught the attention of PM Modi and the latter pitched in with a reply. PM Modi added that his government was “committed to deepening India-Italy strategic partnership which is underpinned by shared values and interests”.
“Thank you for your kind wishes PM @GiorgiaMeloni. We remain committed to deepening India-Italy strategic partnership which is underpinned by shared values and interests. Looking forward to working together for global good,” he tweeted.
We can surely feel that the future of India-Italy relations looks promising with potential for growth in sectors like green technology, digital economy, and sustainable development. Continued efforts to enhance people-to-people connections and economic ties will further strengthen this friendship.
While the relationship between India and Italy is generally positive, there were occasional challenges like trade disputes or differences in international policy perspectives.
Perhaps, there won’t be any issue between the two nations after Italian Prime Minister Giorgio Meloni told PM Modi about continuing to work together to strengthen the friendship.
