According to the video, a 50-minute journey can be done for just Rs 150. Which, with the help of the MakeMyTrip application, you have to book a ticket for Tezpur to the Lilabari route, which is Rs 150 per adult. Not just this route, there are many flights where the base ticket price is less than Rs 1,000.
Airline operators are being offered various incentives to facilitate affordable travel. A recent analysis by travel portal ixigo reveals that on at least 22 routes, the base airfare is less than Rs 1,000 per person, with the lowest being Rs 150 for flights between Lilabari and Tezpur in Assam. These flights are operated by Alliance Air under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS). Additionally, a convenience charge is applicable on top of the base fare when booking tickets. Typically, the duration of RCS flights on these routes is approximately 50 minutes.
Base airfares ranging from Rs 150 to Rs 199 per person are predominant in routes across the North East. However, analysis reveals similar pricing in select southern routes like Bengaluru-Salem and Cochin-Salem. Notably, flights to and from Guwahati and Shillong maintain a base ticket price of Rs 400, while routes like Imphal-Aizawl, Dimapur-Shillong, and Shillong-Lilabari are priced at Rs 500. In contrast, the Bengaluru-Salem route stands at Rs 525 for its base ticket price.
