While in the US, he worked at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia as a resident. After spending nearly two decades in America, Dr. Trehan returned to India in 1988. After this, he worked in important positions at Apollo Hospital and Escorts Heart Institute and Research Center in New Delhi. In 2007, Dr. Naresh Trehan started Medanta – The Medicity in Gurgaon. It is one of the largest multispecialty hospitals in Haryana. After this, he expanded his hospital chain. At present, Medanta Hospital is in Gurugram, Delhi, Indore, Ranchi, Patna, and Lucknow.
According to the Financial Express report, he holds about 88.73 million shares or 33.06% stake in Global Health. Recently, shares of Global Health had touched a record high of Rs 972.55. After this, the net worth of Dr. Naresh Trehan increased to Rs 8,402.30 crore. At the time of updating the news today (11 December 2023), this share was at Rs 912.10.
