A tragic incident highlighting a concerning aspect of humanity has come to light. This case originates from Solapur, Maharashtra, where a father poisoned his 14-year-old son, leading to his death. The father is now in police custody. The sole reason behind this incident is that the boy was caught watching adult content on his phone by his father.
According to the police, the accused has been identified as Vijay Battu, a tailor by profession and lives with his wife and two children in Solapur. Vijay was angry with his son because his son was addicted to watching adult films and was weak in his studies. He had gotten many complaints about him from the school. The victim also had several fights with his sister.
On January 13, the deceased’s mother Kirti Battu had filed a complaint. During the investigation, Vishal was found dead on the roadside near Tuljapur Naka in Solapur. Ajay Jagtap, a police inspector and investigating officer of Jodhbhavi police station, said, “Initially we had registered an accidental death but we suspected foul play in the teen’s death and accordingly launched an investigation.”
“During the investigation, we found Vijay’s behavior suspicious. During sustained interrogation, he confessed to killing his son by giving him a cold drink laced with sodium nitrate and leaving him on the roadside near Tuljapur Naka,” Jagtap said. Senior police inspector Rajendra Karankote said the accused was arrested. For further investigation, he has been taken into custody.
