Do you know – Virat Kohli used to play under the captaincy of Tejashwi Yadav? How did Tejashwi enter politics after leaving the fours and sixes of cricket? The first dream of Tejashwi, who took over the political legacy of Lalu Prasad Yadav in Bihar, was cricket. The craze of cricket was his passion and it was his dream to play in the Indian cricket team. Very few people would know that Tejashwi Yadav had once been the captain of the Indian team’s run machine Virat Kohli.
Since there was no cricket board in Bihar, he stayed in Delhi and studied and played cricket from there. Tejashwi Yadav started his cricket career by debuting in first-class cricket for Jharkhand in the year 2009. He played for Delhi’s Under-15 and 17 teams. He had told in an interview that Delhi had won many matches under his captaincy in Under-15. Virat Kohli, who has earned the title of Run Machine in the cricket world, was also a part of his team. Tejashwi has also been a part of the IPL franchise Delhi Capitals (then Daredevils).
Tejashwi remained in the Delhi team for four seasons. Along with spin, he also used to bowl seam and bat in the lower order. Tejashwi was an all-rounder but he could never be a part of the playing eleven of Delhi’s IPL team.
Tejashwi studied only till the 9th standard. After studies, he started preparing to make a career in cricket but did not get success there either. After this, at the age of 25, in 2015, he said goodbye to cricket and jumped into the electoral fray. Formally started his political career by winning the Raghopur assembly seat.
Only after this, Lalu Prasad Yadav had made it clear that Tejashwi would be his successor and since then Tejashwi Yadav has been continuously holding the command of RJD. It is said that flop in cricket is the biggest reason why Tejashwi entered politics and took steps towards a successful political career.
