Swiggy, India’s leading online food service, has lazily garnered attention with its marketing uniqueness. By featuring Bollywood’s Shah Rukh Khan in its series ads, Swiggy has come up with a unique way to run its flagship promotion, and that too without paying anything. Would you also like to take advantage of this method?
Shahrukh Khan is one of the biggest names in Indian cinema, and his image is quite popular, especially among the youth and families. Swiggy made good use of this popularity and got Shahrukh to promote it for free. Actually, when Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan wants something, he usually gets it. Something similar happened on Monday when Shah Rukh mentioned the popular food-delivery app Swiggy during an Ask Me Anything session with fans on Twitter.
Fans around the world asked Shahrukh questions on many things – his films, family, and everyday banter. It all started when a fan asked Shahrukh, “Khana khya kya bhai?” (Have you eaten, brother?)”. To this, the superstar who is famous for his wit and humor wrote, “Kyu bhai aap Swiggy se ho…bhejoge kya? (Why brother? “Are you affiliated with Swiggy? Can you arrange food delivery for me?”)
The food delivery app wasted no time in joining the conversation and made Shahrukh an offer. He replied to Shahrukh’s tweet and said, “Hum hain Swiggy se’, bhej dein kya? (We are from Swiggy, can we send?)” In a matter of hours, a team of Swiggy employees arrived at Mannat, Shahrukh Khan’s residence, and took to Twitter to share their delightful surprise: they had brought dinner with them. In the caption, they wrote, “Hum Swiggy waale hain aur hum dinner leke aa gye (We are from Swiggy and we are here with dinner).”
This is the result of a masterstroke by the marketing team of Swiggy, whereby they have used the huge brand value of Shahrukh Khan, that too for free without paying anything. Swiggy has grabbed a great opportunity to grow its brand.
