In the Asian Games 2023, India won its first gold medal in shooting. Young shooter Divyansh from Jaipur gave India its first gold medal with his great shooting skills with the rifle. This skillful performance is the result of all the hard work, dedication, and desire that he has put in consistently.
Divyansh Singh Panwar, Aishwarya Pratap Singh, and Rudranksh Patil won the gold medal in the 10-meter air rifle team shooting event in Hangzhou, China scoring 1893.7. Divyansh, a member of this gold medal-winning team of shooters, is a resident of Jaipur. Divyansh’s father Ashok Panwar works as a senior nursing staff in Sawai Mansingh Medical College, Jaipur. Mother Nirmala Devi is also a nurse.
Divyansh’s father Ashok Panwar said – A few years ago, Divyansh got addicted to playing the online game PUBG. To get rid of this, they started sending Divyansh along with his elder sister Maanvi to the Jagatpura shooting range and got him a rifle.
When Divyansh won the first gold medal for India, he said that he was extremely happy and he would try to win another medal. His initial training took place in Jaipur and then he was sent for training at Karni Singh Shooting Range in Delhi.
Father Ashok Panwar said- Divyansh has believed in religious activities since the beginning. Earlier, he often became sad during practice. His coach Deepak Kumar Dubey noticed this. He gave Pocket Geeta to Divyansh to read so that he could focus on his goal. Divyansh was advised to read Geeta regularly. He has always kept Geeta with him since then. Whenever he gets time during shooting and practice, Divyansh definitely reads Geeta.
Divyansh had won 6 medals in the ISSF World Cup in 2019. The medals include four golds, one silver, and one bronze. He won a gold and a silver in individual 10-meter air rifle. Whereas in mixed doubles he won 3 gold and one bronze.
Indian shooter Rudranksh scored 632.5 points in the Asian Games, the highest among the three. Aishwarya Tomar has scored 631.6 points while Divyansh Panwar has scored 629.6 points.
