Who is Ritu Karidhal Srivastava?
Ritu Karidhal is a native of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. She has been brought up in Lucknow. Ritu did her MSc in Physics from Lucknow University. Later, she studied at the prestigious Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. Ritu is survived by her husband Avinash and 2 children Anisha and Aditya.
Ritu did many research papers as a space scientist. In 1997, she started working with ISRO. Ritu Karidhal has been honoured with many awards including the Young Scientist Award, ASI Team Award, ISRO Team Award, Society of India Aerospace Technology and Industries’ Aerospace Woman Award, etc.

Ritu Karidhal is a very promising capable woman. Looking at her experience and talent, the responsibility of Chandrayaan Mission 3 was given. She was also a part of Chandrayaan Mission 2 in which she was the Deputy Director. But now she is leading an important space mission.

LVM3-M4 rocket has been used for this space mission. The cost of this entire mission, including machinery, equipment, and other expenses, is 615 crores. This Chandrayaan will complete the journey to the moon in 50 days and will land on the south pole of the moon. Chandrayaan 3 will not launch and orbit this time as scientists are sending an indigenous propulsion module.
