Team India are currently involved in the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy series against the Australian national cricket team. India won the first Test against Australia by an innings and 132 runs in Nagpur and drew the first blood in the Border Gavaskar Trophy series.
Later on, they went on to win the second Test in Delhi by six wickets at Arun Jaitley Stadium and they also retained the Border Gavaskar Trophy. Notably, India retained the Border Gavaskar Trophy for the fourth-straight time. This is quite a remarkable record.
The third Test between Team India and Australia took place on March 1 at Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore. However, the Aussies broke the shackles and pulled off a stunning effort to beat India in the third Test match as they won the game by 9 wickets.
The Border Gavaskar Trophy series is still alive as the series stands 2-1 in favour of India. After Australia won the third Test, they have qualified for the ICC World Test Championship Final. On the other side of the coin, India are yet to qualify for the ICC WTC Final.
India will have to win the fourth Test match in order to secure their spot in the ICC World Test Championship Final and meanwhile, the fourth and final Test match is currently being held at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Meanwhile, Indian PM Narendra Modi and Australian PM Anthony Albanese marked their presence for the Day 1 of the fourth Test match. Ahead of the game, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were seen singing the national anthem. The video clip of the same has gone viral on social media portals.
