In the latest development, Amou Haji, popularly known as the world’s dirtiest man, drew his last breath at the age of 94, just a few months after his first bath. Yes, you read it right!
For the unversed, the Iranian national didn’t take a bath for more than half a century as he truly believed staying dirty kept him alive for such a long time. The man lived in an open brick hut and then ran through emotional setbacks in his youth which made him live in isolation.
The man passed away on Sunday in the village of Dejgah. He chose to refrain from water and soap for over 60 years. As per Tehran Times, the man would eat porcupine meat, smoke cigarettes and pipes with animal excrement.
Moreover, he also believed that cleanliness would make him ill. For the unversed, he smoked several cigarettes at a time, that were gifted by villagers. His diet comprised rotten meat and unsanitary water drunk from an old oil can, as per the Iranian news agency, IRNA.
Several attempts to bathe him or offer him with clean water made him sad. For the unversed, the villagers had actually tried to convince Haji to take a bath a few months ago, as reported by IRNA reported.
As per IRNA, Amou Haji, who stayed away from water, became ill shortly afterwards and passed away at the age of 94 on Sunday.
