Karwa Chauth is celebrated across the country by wives who pray for a long and prosperous life for their husbands. On the occasion, wives observe a fast without taking a grain of food or water from sunrise to moonrise for their better halves.
The occasion is celebrated with full energy and passion, and it indeed brings prosperity to their family. But this year, the city of Indore (MP) was rocked by the saddening news of a wife committing suicide for her husband who came home late on Karwa Chauth.
The husband’s late arrival caused a verbal fight between the both for a few hours. It triggered the wife to such an extent that she consumed poison. Witnessing the development, husband Shekhar took the poison and ended his life. Both were rushed to a nearby hospital where they breathed their last.
