Virat Kohli is going through a lean patch in his cricketing career. It’s been almost three years since he scored a century in international cricket. The last time when he scored a ton was back in November 2019 during a Test match against Bangladesh.
However, he hasn’t been producing high-class performance in competitive cricket. Whenever he comes out to bat, he is getting dismissed for cheap scores, which is indeed a frustrating thing for him and for the fans.
He has chipped in with a string of low scores for a long time now, which has indeed broken his confidence. Every time when he comes out to bat, he is not really focusing much while batting. Although he has been looking good at the start, he is getting dismissed pretty quickly.
Had he spent some time at the crease, then he would surely try to bring the best out of himself. During the second ODI against England, former Indian skipper Virat Kohli scored just 16 runs to his name before being dismissed by David Willey.
He was looking pretty confident at the crease but fell prey to Willey’s away-going delivery. Kohli was on the receiving end of trolls after he got out cheaply once again.
Meanwhile, Pakistan captain Babar Azam took to Twitter late on Thursday night and posted a T20 World Cup photograph with Virat Kohli and captioned it: “This too shall pass, stay strong.” The post went viral in no time on social media.
Babar added that he knows that a player needs support when he goes through such a tough phase. “As a player myself, I know you can go through such a phase (out of form) and I also know what a player goes through in such a phase. In those times, you need support. I just tweeted thinking that it will give just some support. He is one of the best players,” Babar said during a press conference before Pakistan’s first Test match against Sri Lanka.
