In the Global Air Powers Ranking for 2022, India surpasses China to become the world’s third most powerful air force.
The Indian Air Force is placed third in the world in terms of air power in 2022, behind America and Russia, according to the World Directory of Modern Military Aircraft (WDMMA). The Indian Air Force is stronger than not just the Chinese Air Force, but also the Japanese Air Self-Defense Force, the Israeli Air Force, and the French Air and Space Force, according to the research.
This generates a ‘TrueValueRating’ (TVR), which is used by WDMMA to categorize powers based on characteristics including overall strength, modernity, determining the amount of aid required, assault, and guard skills.
In this method, a country’s tactical air force is divided not just by the number of planes it has, but also by the quality and variety of its stock.
The WDMMA now monitors 98 nations and 124 aviation services, with a total of 47,840 aircraft in its database. It assesses modern military aviation services throughout the world using a set of criteria and creates a report that outlines their current strengths and limitations.
It gives users a visual, unique, and analytical look at a significant component of contemporary warfare and control of the skies through an in-depth resource.
The United States Air Force (USAF) has the highest TVR score (242.9), followed by Russia (114.2), and the Indian Air Force (69.4).
