Dinesh Karthik is one of the experienced wicketkeeper-batters in the current era. He was last seen playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the fifteenth edition of the Indian Premier League. The two-time IPL champions, Kolkata Knight Riders released Dinesh Karthik ahead of the mega auction. However, Royal Challengers Bangalore recruited his services for Rs 5.5 crore at the mega auction held in Bengaluru.
Dinesh Karthik has the second-best batting average of 105 in the ongoing season and has one of the best strike-rates this season as well. He has struck the balls at a strike rate of 200. Having played eight games so far this season, he scored 210 runs. He did justice to his price tag by remaining unbeaten 4 times with scores of 32, 14, 44, 7, and 34.
Whenever the top-order batters collapse, DK who comes at No.5 is bound to lift the scoreboard with his attacking brand of cricket. The 37-year-old has played 16 games for RCB in the last season where he scored 330 runs at an average of 55, which is his best average in IPL.
He has slammed one half-century to his name. Moreover, he has also expressed his interest to play for Team India in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022. The marquee event is slated to be held in Australia later this year (October-November).
