She kick-started her career as an air hostess, and later stepped out of that field in order to pursue a career in modelling. In 2010, after plying her trade on various international modelling projects, she came to Mumbai for 3 months on a modelling contract.
For the unversed, she has done TV commercials with Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor. In 2018, the 33-year-old actress joined Star Plus’s Ishqbaaaz as Nancy.
In fact, she is currently one of the contestants in Indian TV reality show called Lock-Upp. Meanwhile, the actress opened up about her painful experience that she went through earlier in her life. She spoke about her abortion in a recent episode of the controversial reality programme Lock Upp.
She was asked to reveal a personal secret and to which the 33-year-old actress said that it was while she was dealing with her previous affair with Gaurav Gupta that she started dating an ace director. However, she didn’t disclose his identity.
It was a painful experience for her that the Bollywood director got her pregnant and then dumped her. “The time that I was struggling with my whole situation…my separation, I did have a secret relationship. My relationship was with a very well-known director who talks about women’s rights.
“He’s an idol to many people. We planned a pregnancy…and when it happened, he completely backed off and his reason was that he did not think he was emotionally ready to become a father again. He already has a child.
“Suddenly he was like ‘I did not believe you could get pregnant so easily at the age of 33’. We then went to my best friend’s house because he said we should discuss with them as they are like my parents.”
She further added, “When we reached there, he started talking to my friend and saying he was not ready. He had planned the whole thing to get my friends to convince me to have an abortion. I then apologised to my friends and got back to the house.
“When we went back, he started saying ‘You should have understood, my ex is not over me and there is a public case against me’. I had to take a decision because I come from a broken home. I took the step and I did have an abortion. I do not want to name that person because he does not deserve to be known by his name. And it just destroyed so much for me.”
