1. Shekhar Suman:
Bollywood actor, anchor, singer, and producer Shekhar Suman tied the knot with Alka Suman in 1983 and had two children; Aayush and Adhyayan Suman. Tragically, Shekhar lost his eldest son, Aayush, at the age of 11 due to a heart alignment.
2. Govinda:
As they say, those spreading the most laughter are often the ones living with the most tragedies, and Govinda is no exception.
The “Swag Man” of Bollywood lost his 4-month-old daughter because she was born prematurely.
3. Moushumi Chatterjee:
Moushumi Chatterjee was the highest-paid actress during the 1970s. She was among the most appreciated and well-known actresses of her time. She had two beautiful daughters after marrying Jayanta Mukherjee, Megha, and Payal.
Moushumi lost her daughter Payal to type- 1 diabetes after she was bedridden for a long time.
4. Jagjit Singh:
Indian composer Jagjit Singh and his wife Chitra lost their 20-year-old son in 1990, in a car accident. Unable to bear the loss of their son, the two took a break from the Industry. Jagjit soon released the song Chithi Na Koi Sandesh in memory of his deceased son about a year later.
In 2009, Jagjit yet again lost his stepdaughter (Chitra’s daughter from her first marriage), who committed suicide due to her mother’s previously failed marriage.
5. Kabir Bedi:
Bollywood actor Kabir Bedi, who was married 4 times and had three children, lost one of them despite the actor’s best efforts to try and save his son’s life.
His son, Siddharth, who was battling schizophrenia committed suicide when he was just 26 years old.
6. Anuradha Paudwal:
Prominent Indian Playback singer Anuradha Paudwal, wife of music composer Arun Paudwal gave birth to two children, son Aditya, and Daughter Kavita. Unfortunately, the couple lost their son Aditya due to kidney failure.
7. Asha Bhosle:
Asha Bhosle, sister of singer Lata Mangeshkar is also a prominent playback singer in Bollywood. She eloped with Ganpatrao Bhosle and had three children, but soon got divorced in 1960. The former married couple tragically lost two of their children; daughter Varsha Bhosle to suicide and their son, Hemant, to cancer.
8. Mehmood:
Comedic veteran actor Mehmood, who was very well known and appreciated for his performances in Bollywood suffered the loss of his son, Macky Ali, who lost his life after suffering from a cardiac arrest.
