1. Sonu Nigam:
Described by the media as one of Hindi cinema’s most successful and popular singers, Sonu Nigam has been seen in many movies like Kaamchor, Betaab, and Jaani Dushman. Sony, however, turned back to singing as these movies weren’t able to make it big in the box office.
2. Yo Yo Honey Singh:
As one of India’s top Rap artists, Honey Singh tried to set foot into the movie sphere with his debut in Himesh Reshammiya’s The Xpose, but could not seem to establish interest with the viewers as an actor. This is the only film he has been cast on by far, although he still tries his skills in Punjabi movies according to sources.
3. Sukhwinder Singh
The internationally acclaimed Indian playback singer who is considered as one of Bollywood’s most soulful singers, Sukhwinder Singh, has done a few movies like Kuchh Kariye. The movies however did not cope well with the audience.
4. Ali Zafar:
The Pakistani singer had girls swooning over him since his appearance in the film, ‘Mere Brother ki Dulhan’. Every time he has appeared on the big screen he has impressed with his singing as well as acting skills. He was recently seen in the film, ‘Dear Zindagi’ in which he is seen in a role opposite Alia Bhatt.
5. Taran Kaur Dalli:
Taran Kaur Dalli is known by her stage name Hard Kaur. She has predominantly been seen in multiple Bollywood movies as well as the hip-hop scene in the 2000s. She is India’s first female Punjabi rapper. Even though she played in a lot of movies after her acting debut in, ‘Patiala House’ her acting career did not last for long.
6. Aditya Narayan:
The son of the legendary Indian singer Udit Narayan, made his acting debut in a lead role with the film, ‘Shaapit’ in 2010. But the film was not well received by the audience. However, he was a part of the movie industry from very early on. Before his debut as a lead actor, he previously worked with the three big Khan’s of the Industry, Amir, Shahrukh, and Salman at the beginning of his career.
7. Abhijeet Sawant :
The first winner of the Indian Idol made his acting debut with the film, ‘Lottery’ in 2009 but the movie made next to nothing at the box office and was not well received by the audience
as well. He later made a small appearance in the Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif starrer film, ‘Tees Maar Khan’.
8. Mika Singh:
Mika Singh, the Indian performer, rapper, and singer made his debut acting alongside Govinda and Suniel Shetty in Loot. Viewers were quite excited to see him in a movie for once although his role in the movie was minor. Mika also later appeared in the 2014 film Balwinder Singh Famous Ho Gaya.
9. Himesh Reshammiya:
Himesh attempted to start his acting career during the time his name was the synonym for hit music in Bollywood. Both his careers however came to a halt when Himesh could not establish himself as an actor despite doing several movies like Xpose, which turned out to be a big flop on the big screen.
10. Kishore Kumar:
Regarded as one of the greatest and most dynamic singers in the history of Indian music, Kishore is the only successful singer and actor, with appearances in over 86 movies. His role in ‘Padosan’ is considered a benchmark for screen presence and comic timing. Viewers loved watching him and appreciated his presence on the big screen.
