South Indian actresses: In today’s world, having a bachelor’s degree is like having basic necessities like food and shelter. But oh, how we love to hear the stories of people who despite their educational constraints have secured prominent places in society as successful artists.
With this comes the common misconception that one does not need to have a degree to become an artist! But believe it or not, a lot of the people we see on television are in reality highly educated.

1: Taapsee Pannu :
Taapsee is one of the most successful actresses of this generation, with under 50 south Indian movies under her belt before her crossover to the Hindi cinema, where she continued her winning streak with successful movies that did good both with the critics as well as in the box office. She completed her degree in Engineering in computer science from Guru Tech Bahadur Institute of Technology.
2. Anushka Shetty :
A perfect example of beauty with brains, Sweety Shetty who goes by her stage name Anushka is currently the highest-paid actress in the South Indian industry. Prior to becoming an actress she worked as a model. She is the recipient of many prestigious awards including the TN State Film award, Filmfare awards and three CineMAA Awards. She holds a degree in Bachelors of computer application from Mount Carmel, Bengaluru. In addition to that, she also is an accomplished yoga instructor.
3. Pooja Hegde :
Former Pageant queen Pooja Hegde was crowned as the second runners up in the 2010 Miss universe before launching herself as an actress. She is seen predominantly working in a lot of Tamil and Telugu films and has also made her Bollywood debut with Ashutosh Gowariker’s Mohenjo Daro in 2016. She
has graduated from Shrimati Mithibai Motiram Kundnani College of Commerce & Economics with a degree in Commerce.
4. Rakul Preet Singh :
Rakul has worked on both South Indian films as well as Bollywood films since the beginning of her career. She debut as a model as she was pursuing her college degree. She completed her Mathematics degree from the Jesus and Mary College University of Delhi. In addition to that, she has also played golf at a national level and continues to be an active player.
5. Tamannaah Bhatia :
The Indian actress and model born in December 1989 in Mumbai completed her degree in Bachelor of Arts from the National College of Mumbai. However, due to her pressing work at the time, she was not able to pursue a full-time graduation course and later took up distance learning to finish her graduation.
6. Shruti Haasan :
The Indian Actress, model and singer hold a degree in Psychology. She studied in Lady Andal Venkatasubba Rao school in Chennai and later shifted to Mumbai to finish her degree. She also has an avid interest in singing which he has expressed many times before and moved to the US to further learn music at the Musicians Institute in California.
7. Kajal Aggarwal :

10. Rashi Khanna :
The actress/playback singer made her acting debut in the Hindi film, Madras Café (2013), and then went on to make South-Indian films. Bengal tiger, Supreme and Prati Roju Pandage are some of her many commercially successful films. She holds a degree in English honours from Lady Shree Ram College for Women, Delhi.
