In a shocking incident, a man was arrested for allegedly concealing his identity and posing himself as a journalist. Police in Meerut, UP have arrested him as he was asking girl students for their numbers by pretending to be a journalist. Police said that he used to pressurize female students to befriend him.
The accused has been identified as Mohammad Salik who was arrested by Meerut Police from the Chaudhary Charan Singh University campus in Meerut district. The police recovered a mobile phone from Salik which had Photographs of 40 girls and their phone numbers.
As per a report in Panchjanya, Mohammad Salik was arrested from the Chaudhary Charan Singh University campus in Meerut district. Many news channels’ fake IDs, pistol holders, some cartridges etc. were also recovered from him.
According to the police, when university student Manish Kumar reached the campus, a suspicious youth was talking to the girl students claiming to be a journalist from some news channel. During this time, he forcibly grabbed the hand of a girl student. When she protested, many people gathered.
After this, Manish along with his companions caught him. When Salik’s possessions were searched, they got news channel ID cards, including a press card. The name written on the press card was Mohammed Shayan Siddiqui. Police said that all the IDs he had are fake.
He was accompanied by his partner, who fled from there. He has been identified as Mohammad Anas, a resident of Islamabad. The ID of a news channel was also obtained from the second accused. During interrogation of the accused, the names of two people have been revealed, whom the police are looking for. Legal action is being taken against Salik and further investigation is underway.
