In a shocking incident, the father of the daring Bihar girl Richa Bharti has been shot down by assailants in her native village of Nalanda district in Bihar. Richa Bharti rose to fame when she refused to obey the court’s order to distribute the Quran.
On February 19, his father, Mohan Kumar, was shot by some criminals. According to the FIR lodged by Richa’s mother, the incident took place when Richa’s father and mother were returning home from the hallway at 8.30 pm.
According to the complaint lodged by the family of Richa Bharti, he was near his farm when eight assailants surrounded him with rifles on the shoulders and started firing. Mohan Kumar received severe injuries in the attack and fell there. As per FIR that two assailants, Chandramouli Prasad and Ranjit Kumar, started firing on Mohan Kumar before he was dragged and thrown in the well.
A distraught Richa says that the murder was a result of the rivalry that the assailants had harboured for many years and had planned to kill him for a long time. The murder had nothing to do with her brave stand regarding the distribution of the Quran.
She has also claimed that no arrests have been made so far and the police has assured her that the assailants would not be spared. The family of Bharti has provided names of 7-8 assailants and the police has said that the investigation is underway.
