Filmmaker Om Raut is all set to kick-start the test shoot of his upcoming movie ‘Adipurush’. The film is based on the Hindu epic Ramayana, starring Prabhas as Ram and actor Saif Ali Khan as Ravana.
The makers have geared up to start the shoot of the film. The film is heavy on VFX and the team will be using new techniques of the motion picture to create never seen before experience for the audience.
For the uninitiated, Om Raut made his directorial debut with Ajay Devgn starrer Tanhahji: The Unsung Warrior which released earlier this year.
The director and the technical team will be shooting in a closed environment with a chroma setup to get used to shooting with new technology before they start the actual shoot with the cast.
The actual shoot of the film is likely to start by February end or early March. Prabhas has already starred prepping for the role by working for a lean body and learning archery. Saif, too, will be undergoing several acting workshops and undergo body language training to play the evil Raavan on screen.
It is Prabhas’ first collaboration with Om Raut. It is a 3D film and will be shot in Hindi and Telugu while it will be dubbed in Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and several international languages.
Apart from Prabhas and Saif, Kriti Sanon is also reportedly a part of the movie. She will be playing the role of Sita in the epic saga.
In the last few years, Bollywood has given India many films that are ‘inspired’ from history. Many Bollywood films have attracted criticism over the years. Therefore, the movie ‘Adipurush’ will surely attract criticism when it will be released in 2022. People will raise various objections against the film. So now the question is why could one have objections to this movie?
The government has nothing to do with this film because the movie is being directed by ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ helmer Om Raut. In such a situation, how this movie can be nationalism?. Yet, those who have objections to this film will call this movie a nationalism.
People now want to know India’s history and culture, they want to know the real heroes of the country who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the country, but there are certain people who are going to call it nationalism. India has sent a ‘strong message’ across the world by conducting surgical strikes that India is capable of giving a befitting reply if provoked. Later, a Bollywood movie called “Uri: The Surgical Strike” was made based on the surgical strike conducted by the Indian Army.
When the film ‘Adipurush’ will be released in theaters in 2022, It will receive a lot of criticism. Certain people claim that Jodhaa Akbar is a secularist movie but Tanhaji is a nationalism. Haider movie is secularism but AdiPurush is hyper-nationalism. People will express their outrage over the film.
Actor Prabhas said in a statement, “Every role and every character come’s with its own challenges, but portraying a character like this comes with tremendous responsibility and pride. I am very excited to portray this character of our Epic especially the way Om has designed it. I am sure the youth of our country will shower all their love for our film.”
‘Adipurush’ is co-produced by Bhushan Kumar, who also worked with Prabhas in ‘Saaho’. They have also collaborated for ‘Radhe Shyam’. Adipurush is expected to be released in 2022.
