The coronavirus has affected everyone’s lives, no one has been spared by this deadly disease. Millions of people have lost their loved ones during this pandemic. Now, everyone is waiting for a COVID-19 vaccine which will “intensify and strengthen” the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
Making vaccines isn’t the easiest of jobs and requires a lot of input and scientific knowledge. So amid this situation of crisis, here is some good news to give you a sigh of relief.
It is now expected that the vaccine will be available in India soon. Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath said Covid-19 vaccine will be available in the state soon.
Speaking at a programme in Gorakhpur, he said, “We initiated the campaign against Covid-19 in March 2020 under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and at the beginning of this year we could say firmly that the dry run of the vaccine will be held on January 5 across the state and the vaccine will be available near around Makar Sankranti.”
In the first phase, frontline health workers like doctors and paramedical staffs will be vaccinated. The state government has directed all the district magistrates and chief medical officers to enlist public and private health workers on priority for vaccination.
Further, the vaccine will first be given to people who are above 50 years of age. The remaining population will be inoculated after the people in priority list are covered. The vaccination here will depend on the disease epidemiology and vaccine availability.
