In our country, students commit suicide either by hanging or drinking poison due to increasing pressure in academics. Though there have been several attempts made by the school or college institutions to reduce the burden on students, they are still taking the extreme step to end their lives.
If sources are to be believed, every hour, one student commits suicide in India. According to a Lancet report, India has one of the world’s highest suicide rates for youth age 15 to 29. We have come across youngsters finding it difficult to cope with personal problems, failure in exams and careers.
One needs to realise that there is always a life after failure and without even realising that, youths take an infamous decision to end their lives. In shocking news, an 18-year-old student from Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh committed suicide by hanging herself due to an alleged mismatch in the numbers of NEET exam result.
The student, Identified as Vidhi Suryavanshi, was shocked to see extremely low marks that she got only 6 marks. Vidhi’s poor number left her so shocked that she hanged herself by the ceiling fan inside her room. However, the parents did not believe the marks their daughter received after which they checked her OMR sheet in which she had gotten 590 marks.
According to Vidhi’s father, Gajendra Suryavanshi, Vidhi saw the test results on the portal on Monday. She got tense after seeing the result that she got just 6 marks, and took such a drastic step. Notably, Vidhi Suryavanshi wanted to become a doctor and had studied hard for her NEET examinations.
On Tuesday morning, the body of the deceased was found hanging in her room. Upon receiving information, the police also reached the spot and sent the dead body for post-mortem after which she was cremated.
