A man from Chhattisgarh has finally come out of jail after 15 years and was extremely happy to meet his daughter. The Court acquitted him after he spent 15 years behind the bars.
The man, identified as Anand Nageshiya, was on cloud nine when he returned home and met his family in Aamdarha village which is Ambikapur, North Chhattisgarh.
The 40-year-old man was arrested by cops in connection with murder case. Anand was in prison for killing his paternal uncle over a dispute back in 2005. His daughter was just one year old when he was put behind bars, as per a report in Indian Express.
Nageshiya felt really sad when he got to know that his daughter did not have a smartphone to join online classes. Schools and higher educational institutions have been shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Hence, students have no choice but to attend online classes.
His daughter is in Class 12 of a government school. So what did he do? The man bought a smartphone for her. Where did he get the money? It was from what he earned in jail.
“I was moved when my daughter told me she was not having any device to attend online classes. She wished to become a doctor and render her service to humanity by joining the medical profession. I realised the importance of education while in jail. I will leave no stone unturned to ensure my daughter doesn’t face any hurdle to pursue her dream,” he told the Indian Express.
Anand was released from jail early for exhibiting good behavior in Prison.
“He along with 19 others were recommended to the government for granting remission of sentence from Ambikapur Central Jail after they were found maintaining overall good behaviour consistently. We saw Nageshiya, who was serving a life imprisonment for murder, has downright reformed and disciplined himself and his name was cleared on the grounds of good conduct,” said Rajendra Gaikwad, superintendent at Ambikapur Central Jail.
Anand’s move to buy the smartphone has brought tears in his daughter’s eyes. Even though he has been away from his daughter for 20 years, he is still her good father who takes care of her and understands her needs. It shows that he has not forgotten his responsibility.
