Popularly referred to as ‘Ulaganayagan’, our very own Kamal Haasan is one the brightest stars in the history of Tamil cinema; an actor, dancer, director, producer, screenwriter, playback singer and lyricist who has contributed not only to Tamil movies but also worked in Telugu, Malayalam, Kanada Hindi and Bengali industry.
Kamal Haasan has been a recipient of four national awards and nineteen Filmfare awards. He was also awarded Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan in his lifetime. Kamal’s personal life has been the grist for the gossip mill in this industry.

Kamal Haasan met Srividya on the sets of the 1975’s Tamil classic Apoorva Raagangal. She was a popular South Indian actress who according to the sources had fallen in love during the shooting of the film. Their relationship was kept in the dark for many years, seemed that Kamal Haasan was not eager to court Srividya officially.
Srividya was married to George Thomas and later divorced in 1980. She died of prolonged illness in 2006. Kamal Haasan was rumored to keep meeting her in her deathbed.

Kamal Haasan started dating popular dancer Vani Ganapathi around the year 1977 and later married in 1978. Kamal’s infidelity and the inability to conceive after ten years of their marriage were two of the main reasons for their split-up.

His closeness to Tamil actress Simran was also not perceived well by Sarika. The incidents traumatized Sarika so much that she even tried to attempt suicide.
