Mahesh Bhatt, who is an Indian film director, producer and screenwriter, is well-known for his notable works exclusively in Hindi cinema. Many super hit films have been directed by him. It is said that filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt’s life has been full of controversy.
Meanwhile, the National Commission for Women issued a notice against the director stating that Mahesh Bhatt is promoting an institution which is already undergoing a case of sexual harassment.
To which, Mahesh Bhatt issued a statement saying, “I salute the National Commission for Women, that they have marked and tightened some institutions which promote sexual harassment with women in the industry and tarnish the name of the industry. I am grateful to the National Commission for Women for this. Today I appeared before the Commission in the context of the above-mentioned elegance. IMG Venture used my name in November 2020 at their promotional event Mr. and Mrs. Glamor, 2020 and invited me to be a part of the event. I had to appear before the commission.
But I refused to attend the show citing the current conditions. I was not in any kind of agreement regarding this event nor was I given any fees for it. But unfortunately my name and my image were used by social media without my consent in reference to this event. When I asked him about this, he apologized for it. After this, my image and name were removed from everywhere”.
He further said, “I have issued this statement to let everyone know that I have nothing to do with IMG.” Just because my name and image were used so that more and more people could attend their event. I am 71 years old. In this age, I try to share knowledge and make people aware from social perspective. I am the father of three girls. I am grateful to the National Commission of Women for the way they are doing commendable work for the social issue.”

It has been learnt that social activist Yogita Bhayana has alleged in her complaint against promoter Sunny Verma of the promoter of a company IMG Venture that she has blackmailed and sexually abused many girls on the pretext of giving them a chance to pursue a career in modeling.
