Bollywood industry has largely been influenced by people who haven’t heir link-ups in the film industry. The so-called star kids of already established ones are already in the headlines for all the reasons and are allowed to stay there despite their success or failure.
On the contrary, talented ones are struggling to set their feet. To make things worse, the Bollywood industry even leaves people when they go through bad times. For instance, Sushant Singh’s death by suicide.
There were reports according to which the Bollywood star was banned by some big production houses including producers such as Karan Johar, Aditya Chopra, Salman Khan, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, etc. Some video clips of old videos are also going viral on social media platforms in which A-listers or the star kids are seen making fun of Sushant during a talk show or at other events.
Social media users are very angry with the big celebrities of the industry. In fact, many are demanding that movies of Karan Johar, Salman Khan, Bhansali, YRF, etc. should be boycotted to teach them a lesson. A campaign has been started on change.org in which people have to sign a petition for boycotting the films of KJO, SKF and YRF.
Meanwhile, a moment from Koffee With Karan is doing the rounds on social media where Karan Johar had asked Ishan Khatter to mention a Bollywood stereotype, which is indeed true during a rapid-fire round on the show.
Replying to this, Shahid Kapoor who was sitting next to Ishaan Khatter had prompted ‘nepotism’ as an answer. To which Ishaan said “I can say it?”, to this Shahid Kapoor affirmatively responded, ‘Of course you should.’
Later, Karan Johar added that even Ishaan is a product of nepotism and to which Ishaan agreed to it while also adding that the existence of nepotism in Bollywood is a reality.
The last time when Karan Johar had spoken about nepotism in an interview, he had said: “We have introduced 21 debut directors. Out of which, I can say, 16-17 are not “nepotistic” young filmmakers”,
He also added that he had no direct contact with Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan, who he launched with his film ‘Student Of The Year’.
