During the coronavirus crisis, doctors and healthcare workers are giving absolutely everything in India’s fight against the epidemic which has claimed 488 lives in the country and lakhs of lives globally.
Without even caring about their lives, doctors are working all day without taking as rest to save people’s lives. There are absolutely no words to explain their dedication to work.
In doing their duty, many healthcare workers lost their lives owing to COVID-19. In another heartbreaking incident, a pregnant nurse passed away in the United Kingdom, but her baby survived.
As per BBC, Mary Agyeiwaa Agyapong plied her trade at Luton and Dunstable University Hospital, northwest of London and was admitted to the hospital on April 7 after testing positive for the virus infection two days earlier.
The 28-year-old drew her last breathe on Sunday, at Bedfordshire Hospitals – NHS Foundation Trust confirmed in a statement on Wednesday. It is to be noted that she had worked for the hospital system for five years.
It was learnt that the nurse’s child was doing quite well but no additional information was provided.
It is to be noted that more than £117,000 (about $146,000) has been donated to a GoFundMe page, which was set up to support Agyapong’s husband and baby.
So far, 27 NHS workers have died from coronavirus, UK Health Secretary Matt Hancock told in an interview with the BBC.
As per latest reports, around 14,000 people have died of coronavirus in the UK and more than 100,000 have tested positive.
