A local youth from Rohtak identified as Niranjan Kashyap married a Mexican national named Dana under the Special Marriages Act on April 13 amid the Coronavirus lockdown.
It has been learnt that the district magistrate court in Rohtak opened its doors on the night of April 13 in order to solemnise the wedding of a boy with a Mexican girl under the Special Marriage Act as both could not marry due to the ongoing lockdown imposed to prevent the spread of coronavirus epidemic.
“The notice was to end on March 18 but by then the lockdown began so we could not get married. We submitted an application to the District Collector after which he conducted our wedding,” the boy added.
As per ANI reports, the couple came to know about each other on a language learning application and slowly it turned out to be a romantic relationship where both of them decided to get married and love each other for the rest of their lives.
Dana and her mother turned up for the wedding in India on February 11 and also applied for a marriage permit under the Special Marriages Act before long. It accompanies a notification time of one month.
The period came to a close on March 18 yet the two couldn’t marry as the nation saw lockdown on March 25 to curb spread of the infection.
Niranjan Kashyap from Rohtak married his soulmate Dana on April 13 under the Special Marriage Act amid the nationwide lockdown. Niranjan says, “We met through a language learning app. Dana&her mother came to India on 11th February for the wedding.”
