Rajasthan’s Bhilwara has been in the news for the last month due to ongoing coronavirus pandemic. In the beginning, this district emerged as a coronavirus hotspot, but the way the administration took all steps to curb the spread of COVID-19 is amazing.
You don’t need a magic wand to become successful in life. All that you require is the willingness to succeed, the will to do things, the ability to move on and the perseverance to try even when there are many challenges ahead.
Meet IAS officer Tina Dabi who took the whole responsibility on her shoulder to defeat the coronavirus, we are proud of her! The first positive case of COVID-19 was reported in the district on March 19 and Rajendra Bhatt, the district collector immediately imposed a complete shutdown across the district on March 21 in order to prevent further spread of the deadly virus.
26-year-old Tina Dabi who has been the sub-divisional magistrate since 2018, proactively sealed the very district when a doctor in a district hospital tested positive for the virus. This IAS officer played a crucial role in bringing the situation under control. Let’s know what role she has played?
IAS topper Tina Dabi told Hindustan Times newspaper in an interview that we first implemented lockdown in the wake of coronavirus outbreak and at the same time she managed to take people in confidence.
She is engaged in ensuring safety for people in the district. The initial days were extremely challenging as essential services were to be delivered at peoples’ doorstep. There was a panic situation among daily wagers and homeless people due to the sudden closure of the district, but she led the team and earned the confidence of the citizens.
After the shutdown, screening tests were conducted from the medical staff to their families, to those they came in contact with, and eventually, the entire city was screened. Her team urged every citizen of the district to avoid social gatherings as part of precautionary measures to contain COVID-19 outbreak.
At a time when the world is combating the coronavirus epidemic, this IAS officer has set an example by controlling the number of coronavirus cases. Hats off Tina Dabi!
Tina Dabi is engaged in ensuring safety for people in the district. She is putting her life at risk and still fighting against Covid-19 and we feel proud to see women stepping up into roles of importance and doing them complete justice. Meanwhile India’s Cabinet Secretary, Rajeev Gauba recognised the success of the model and said, “The government is planning to implement this model in other places, too, for effective containment of the infection.” She not only made the district proud but also made India proud as well.
