The Ramayana has been telecasted on Doordarshan (DD) after over three decades on the demand of people amid nationwide lockdown.
Everyone is well aware of the fact that India, at the moment, is under complete lockdown to contain the spread of COVID-19 outbreak. It is to be noticed that the Coronavirus is bent upon killing human beings, eliminating them. It has put the entire world in a lockdown.

Therefore, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a complete lockdown for 21 days across India during his address to the nation. Now, it is a battle of life and death and we have to win it. This is the high time to show our love for our country. For the coming many days, you have to keep patience and observe restraint. For the time being we have to stay indoors.
As people are getting bored during the lockdown, the government got an idea to keep entertaining people at home. On Friday, Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar took to his Twitter handle to announce that Ramayan would now air on DD National twice a day starting Saturday (March 28).
Earlier this week, as the complete lockdown was implemented for 21 days to check the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, Twitter was flooded with messages asking for reruns of Ramayan and B R Chopra’s Mahabharat, which was telecast after Ramayan ended in 1988.
“Happy to announce that on public demand, we are starting re-telecast of Ramayan from tomorrow, Saturday March 28 on DD National. One episode in morning 9 am to 10 am, another in the evening 9 pm to 10 pm,” Mr Javadekar wrote in his tweet.
Arvind Trivedi, who played the role of Ravana in the 1980s Ramayana, will be seen again on TV. He had left a great impression on People’s minds by playing one of the toughest roles as Ravana. He is still remembered by millions of people across the country for his outstanding role in Ramayana.

It has been learnt that he had tears in his eyes when he saw himself on TV playing the role of Ravana. While watching this serial, Arvind Trivedi also brought back memories of old days.
Now, it is broadcasting on DD National Channel at 9 am and 9 pm every Sunday. The reason for its coming back is the Corona virus pandemic.
In India alone, the confirmed positive cases of coronavirus have surpassed 1,000 so far, while at least 20 people have died in the country from the infection.
Scientists are trying their best to find a complete cure to combat the fast-spreading disease. Unfortunately, for now, there is no vaccination or cure available to help patients recover the deadly disease. So it is advised to take all possible precautions. Maintain social distancing to avoid coronavirus infection. Make sure that you keep yourself away from those who have coronavirus symptoms.
