The entire world is in a state of shock after the novel coronavirus pandemic impacted lakhs of people’s lives. By far, more than 11,000 people have passed away linked to coronavirus and over 2.7 lakh people have been affected by the virus infection. Thankfully, over 85,000 people have recovered from the deadly outbreak.
It has been learnt that the coronavirus pandemic has claimed the lives of at least 4,000 people in China alone and more than 7,000 worldwide, as per the experts.
Even as China is finding it tough to bring the widespread infectious disease under control, several countries across the world are reporting cases of coronavirus. People lost their loved ones to the deadly disease which originated in Wuhan, China.
Meanwhile, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar shared a video on social media in which he is seen urging people to stay at home on Sunday, 22 March. He said, “Ghar par hu, umeed karta hu aap bhi ghar par hoge. Aur agar bahar ho toh koi zaroori kaam se hoyenge.”
Bollywood Khiladi also took his anger out on singer Kanika Kapoor who threw a lavish party for her friends even after being infected with COVID-19. She ignored the government’s warning to stay in isolation. It has been learnt that the actress had a travel history to London. She returned to Lucknow on March 15 and hid the information about her travel history.
After arriving in Lucknow, Kanika had hosted three parties. Bureaucrats, politicians and socialites also attended the party. Rajasthan MP Dushyant Singh, who also attended the party, tested positive for COVID-19. Dushyant Singh later had a breakfast meeting with President Ram Nath Kovind. Later, President Kovind had to undergo testing for COVID-19. This is how Kanika Kapoor put several lives at risk, said the Sooryavanshi actor.
Bollywood actor also extended his support to COVID-19 Janta Curfew called by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. India is observing a “Janata (public) Curfew” today from 7 am to 9 pm.
He captioned his video saying, “For the first time in life, the winner will be the one who will stay put! This is a race, one which will save us…Say yes to #SocialDistancing please #BreakCorona #TogetherAtHome @mybmc.” (sic)
As for Akshay Kumar, he has kept himself in isolation and is contacting his fans through social media. He is also trying his best to spread awareness on the current issue. Maharashtra government recently surfaced a video in which many Bollywood celebrities can be seen urging people to stay at home and maintain proper level of hygiene.
Akshay’s film Sooryavanshi, which was supposed to be released on March 24, has now been postponed due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak. The film’s new release date is yet to be announced.
Akshay shared the video saying, “Please Please Please inn neeyamo ka paalan karein, apne aur doosron ki suraksha ke liye. Swasth rahein, surakshit rahein #WarAgainstVirus.”
