27-year-old veterinarian Dr. Potula Priyanka Reddy was allegedly raped and murdered by four people on the outskirts of Hyderabad on Wednesday night. The incident took place on Nov 27. All those accused of raping her have been apprehended and police are further investigating the case.
According to the reports, the four accused had already made a plan to abduct her and rape her when they noticed her parking her two-wheeler at the Tondupally toll plaza. The accused thought that the lady would come back to pick it up later in the evening and they then deflated the tyre.
When the victim came out of her office to pick her vehicle, she found a flat tyre. She immediately made a call to her sister, who asked her to leave her scooter at the toll plaza and hire a taxi home. Before she could, two men came and pretended to assist her. They then dragged her into the bushes barely 50 meters from Tondupally toll plaza behind a line of trucks that was parked near the road. She was brutally raped and murdered in a Muslim dominated town (Hyderabad) by perpetrators and her corpse was found under an underpass. As per cops, the accused took her body to an under-construction bridge and set it on fire.
Reportedly, the incident was caught on the CCTV camera in which the victim can be seen walking to her scooter at around 8 pm. When she reached her vehicle, two persons, who are suspected to be truck drivers, told her that her tyre was flat. Priyanka asked her sister Bhavya to continue talking to her as she was feeling scared. As soon as the connection lost, her family went to the Shamshabad police station and lodged a complaint.
Reportedly, milk vendor S Sathyam found a corpse burning underneath an underpass of a flyover on NH-44 on Thursday morning. He immediately called villagers and informed local police.
A driver and cleaner of a lorry have been detained in connection with the case. Hyderabad police have stated that dog squads and special teams have been set to work to nab the culprits. As per a local MLA, the prime accused in the case is Muhammad Pasha and his friends. The police are scanning the CCTV footage of the area.
