Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president for the national capital unit Manoj Tiwari has promised to make the city pollution-free in two years if their party is voted to power in the forthcoming Delhi Assembly polls 2020.
While addressing the users on Facebook platform through a live video, Tiwari launched a scathing attack on Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government for their inability to manage the stubble burning scenario that has created a hazardous blanket of smoke all over the national capital region.
“The BJP is committed to make Delhi free from pollution within two years through its good intentions and policies. After coming to power, the BJP will also finish the garbage mountains at landfill sites,” he added.
Meanwhile, the BJP Delhi chief had also affirmed that his party was in touch with many companies that were ready to run electric buses in the national capital. He added that the city needed 12,000 such vehicles to promote public transport system and keep toxic air levels under check.
Talking to Facebook audience, Tiwari added that a bill will be soon passed in the Winter Session of Parliament, starting on November 18, on unauthorised colonies and registration of properties therein will start a week after that.
On the contrary, Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal had claimed that pollution in the capital city has reduced by 25 per cent during the past 4 years.
In reality, the capital city today experienced a toxic haze once again today as the air quality went into the ‘severe-plus’ emergency category.
