West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee made the headlines on Thursday after she shared a video of herself jogging in white saree for 10 km in Darjeeling in a bid to create awareness on conservation.
With no gym suit or running shoes, Mamata Banerjee jogged on the empty roads of Kurseong. She was accompanied by her security men including the journalists for the jog which took the bystanders by surprise.
It is worth mentioning here that Mamata Banerjee is known to be a ‘fitness freak’. She always sets high standards for herself as she jogs no less than 15 km daily. She arrived Kurseong for an administrative meeting and preferred not to take a break from her daily routine.
“Let us all solemnly pledge to make every effort to conserve the environment and save our planet,” the 64-year-old tweeted.
“Good health is the most important in building a beautiful future. A good habit like morning travel can inherit our health. This morning walk and run will help work in a pleasant environment in North Bengal’s tour of North Bengal.
There is no alternative to walk to stay healthy,” Mamata Banerjee posted this video along with a caption on Facebook.
