In a move that has annoyed the students and teachers in Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi Adityanath government has completely banned the use of mobile phones in colleges and universities.
A circular to this has been issued by the Directorate of Higher Education in UP. The circular states a blanket ban on the use of mobile phones inside universities and colleges.
This means that students will no longer be permitted to take or use phones inside universities and colleges. The ban is also applicable to teachers and professors across all universities and colleges in the state.
The Directorate of Higher Education issued the notice to make sure that there is ‘better teaching environment for students across all colleges and universities in the state’.
