When it came to hitting the target to perfection, India’s Elavenil Valarivan brought the best out of herself as she hit the bullseye on her way to the historic yellow metal.
Elavenil Valarivan competing in women’s 10m Air Rifle Event showed no signs of worry about the tournament which was her first at senior level, as she got the better of Britain’s Seonaid Mcintosh to claim the top honour.
Elavenil stole the spotlight by securing 251.7 in the finals to make India proud in the event. So far, India has now won 3 out of 4 gold medals in the women’s 10m Air Rifle this year.
The shooter weaved her magic with a series of high 10s. It was not a one-sided event as both Seonaid and Elavenil fought hard, but eventually, it was the Indian who came through with flying colours with a milestone win.
