There is no stopping India’s golden girl Hima Das as she won her fourth gold medal within 2 weeks itself. She once again steered India to glory by winning the recent 200m at the Tabor Athletics Meet in the Czech Republic.
As usual, the 19-year-old Hima Das lit up the track on fire by running with a mind-blowing pace and it was more than enough for her to seal the big deal. She clocked 23.25 seconds in the event. VK Vismaya settled for the second place with 23.43 and her personal best of 23.10 seconds.
This was Hima’s fourth gold medal since July 2 when she ran her first competitive race in Europe. She has shown vast improvements ever since her first race.
In her first competitive 200m race of the year, the Assam runner clocked 23.65 seconds on her way to gold at the Poznan Athletics Grand Prix in Poland on July 2. After that, she clinched her second 200m gold at the Kutno Athletics Meet, also in Poland, on July 7 clocking 23.97 seconds.
On July 13, she bagged her third 200m gold at the Kladno Athletics Meet in Czech Republic finishing ay 23.43 seconds.
Hima’s pet event is 400m and it has been learnt that she is yet to qualify for the World Championships in both the events.
The World Championships qualifying time for 200m is 23.02 seconds and for 400m it is 51.80 seconds.
