Humans can’t get any worse than this. In a recent cruel case of brutal animal torture, a man residing in Gurugram had allegedly thrown two Shih-Tzu puppies from the eighth-floor balcony of his apartment in Emaar Emerald Estate, Sector 65.
The puppies- a male and a female were just 8-9 months old and they died of shock due to the fall from such an altitude.
The owner of the dogs, known to be an Iraqi citizen named Saif Ali works as a translator in a leading private hospital.
A woman identified as Nikita Kapoor living in the same complex, the only witness to the incident claims to have seen the man throw the puppies down.
Soon after the residents along with the guard approached the man’s apartment, but no one replied and he allegedly sent a text that he was in office.
Chetna Joshi, an animal activist said, ‘Ever since the incident he went missing.’
Umeed For Animals – a rescue and rehabilitation centre for animals in torture, busy working on this case say they had been finding it really hard to file an FIR since last evening.
Nikhil Mahesh, who works with the NGO, told Indiatimes, ‘Gurgaon police has been extremely uncooperative with this case.’
An Instagram post by the NGO read, “Why is Gurgaon police so hostile with animal-related cases ???? The good news is that the culprit has been forced to vacate this house. The residents have put pressure on the landlord.”
Nikhil Mahesh highlights that Saif Ali has now been detained and is being questioned by the police.
