A police complaint against Priyanka Sharma, a Bharatiya Janata Youth Morcha (BJYM) worker, was lodged for allegedly posting a photo-shopped picture of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on her Facebook handle.
Why everyone is so obsessed with the image and what it actually is?
The picture is nothing but a meme of West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee’s face which was perfectly superimposed on Priyanka Chopra’s famous MET Gala 2019 look which makes the overall image absolutely hilarious according to users on Social media. Nonetheless, the post which drew attention on the internet has now been removed from her timeline now.
ANI news agency took to their Twitter handle to share the news: “West Bengal: A Police complaint has been filed against Priyanka Sharma – Howrah District Club Cell Convener, Bharatiya Janata Morcha – BJYM, for allegedly posting a photo-shopped picture of CM Mamata Banerjee on her Facebook account yesterday.”
In a stringent complaint filed by a Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader, Bivas Chandra Hazra added: “Priyanka Sharma… posted a most awful post on Facebook on 9th May 2019 at 5 PM on her timeline i.e. she cut the face of Mamata Banerjee from any picture and paste it on a picture of some model or something like that, which broke the community guidelines and it is also an issue of violence. She does not just try to insult our Hon’ble Chief Minister, but she trying to insults the culture of our Bengal by her post on Facebook and which is Cyber Crime.”
